I've been working on a prompt from one of my groups to create a page in the style of a favorite artist. Joan Snyder is mine. She's taught me about mark making and color. One painting's title caught my eye called "Women Make Lists". I was looking for the image to put here but haven't found it yet. However, I found this youtube video of a recent exhibit of here work and the work is luscious. Have a look and see what you think.

Thanks, Cynthia, for 'introducing' me to Joan Snyder. Although abstract isn't my usual preference, her work, and the apparent freedom within it, makes me think. You piqued my curiosity and I found "Women Make Lists" at mocoloco.com/art/archives/001869.php. As a compulsive list-maker, I found the piece intriguing.
Thanks, Jenn, for the link to the beautiful drawing by Joan Snyder. The painting I mentioned in the previous post was for a larger painting called 'Women Make Lists'. It appears she must have had an exhibition with many works under that title. You can see the painting I was thinking about at www.bettycuninghamgallery.com Although a very small version, the painting is actually approx. 5+'x10'. Would love to be able to stand in front of it.
